Chaffee County is fortunate to have a Veterans Service office staffed by county employees.

The Veterans Service Officer (VSO) is available to assist U.S. Military veterans with a variety of services, primarily with the preparation of U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) benefits and healthcare claims.

The transportation coordinator assists veterans with ground transport to their VA-funded benefits and medical appointments. The office has two vehicles purchased through the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and a cadre of volunteer drivers.
